That's the question this story poses. By going, the author means spreading out and interacting with others who may or may not agree with them. He thinks that this would ultimately be more effective, and I agree with him.
It would seem that, to at least some extent, the protesters do too, whether it's coming to the aid of conservative reporters, or even engaging in a dialogue with Tea Party members.
Or, for that matter, spelling out what they want to do.
Perhaps these efforts will end the Democrats' skittishness about identifying with the Occupy movement. More importantly, perhaps it will advance the movement's goals.
