Social Security was passed doing a time of prosperity?  The last two years have seen American become more liberal?

    Isn't that incredible, Steve? What the hell is wrong with Ross Douthat? And how did that slip past the op-ed page editor at the Times? (On the other hand, at least that column space is no longer occupied by William Kristol,

    Thanks for commenting. Douthat is certainly a better columnist than Kristol was, but I think he was a little giddy with the anticipation of victory when he wrote this!
